Tell us about the last book you read (Why did you choose it? Recommended to me. Would you recommend it? Absotively!!). To go further, write a post based on its subject matter.
This is my first of Neil Gaiman’s work. I am so glad that it was recommended to me. I’ve been reading so many “serious”, “grown up” books and this was really a sweet escape. I’m always a sucker for nostalgia and this book brought back that great feeling of excitement, awe and incredulous wondrous desire to believe in all things magical. The kind of feeling that all children possess until it slowly, little by little, slips away from us (well, most) and have to be reminded again. Losing yourself while reading this book is the way to go and it’s not hard with main character, Fat Charlie’s eccentric family. Gaiman’s descriptions are so developed, warm and rich, you can really submerse yourself and let them take you into Anansi’s world.
Pick up this book, sit your child on your lap and let Anansi sing you his song and tell you the story of how they began.
And a pretty song..
